Topic:
Christian Oath and Vow II
Bible
text: Ecclesiastes 5 vs. 4
Preacher:
Pst Ezekiel E. (parish pastor)
A vow you place before God
becomes an attraction for Him to bless you, but after you have gained your blessings
the vow turns out to be an exam for you. But when you fail the exams, you will
be rewarded according to your mark, always strive to redeem any vow that you
set before God.
Note: vow can be in the form of depth, oath, etc…
Vow
as covenant (Positive):
_when you make a vow between
you and God, it becomes a positive covenant (1
sam 20 vs 16-17) (2 sam 9 vs 6-7, 12-13)
Vow
as Allegiance:
_in Government you have made a vow to Nigeria, which is noted down in the Nigerian Pledge. You must be committed to the vow. If not you are owing a depth, (2 sam 5 vs 1-4) (Joshua 9 vs 1-5).
There
are some conditions whereas some vow can be cancelled and not be cancelled
1. When
a little child makes a vow that he or she cannot fulfill without seeking the
parent’s consent, the vow can be cancelled. Because the pastor have not prayed
over it (Numbers 30 vs 3-4)
2. Read
(Numbers 30 vs 6-8)
3. Read
(Numbers 30 vs 9)
Implications
of Non Payment of Vow
1. Vow becomes
a sin. (Det 23 vs 21)
2. It becomes
a cause (Malachi 1 vs 14)
Conclusion:
Do not delay to pay your vow
when God have blessed you with what you asked from Him. (Numbers 30 vs 2)…
