Christian Service (Introduction)

Christian Service is the way of serving God to attract Favour, what brings the Favour is when you Honor God Genuinely with your Christian Service

 

The different Christian Services you can use to Honor God in other to attract Favour from God:

v Tithe

v Offering

v Prayers and fasting

v First Fruit

v  giving of arms

 

 

Ø Tithe (Malachi 3 vs 8 – 10): This is the one-tenth of one’s income: You should pay your tithe regularly and correctly, your tithe should be paid in the place you worship. Don’t use your tithe for charity, pay your tithe completely

 Note: Many Christians and men of God don’t pay their tithe, but they go around giving themselves titles. God is not a respecter of any man, so if you don’t pay your tithe you can’t attract favor from God, it is the law of giving.

 

Ø Offering (Exodus 25 vs 2): giving of offering is also called investing in God’s Kingdom. It is advisable for one to give his/her offering of free will. The offering is also a contribution given in a church gathering and is a part of church service or Christian service. (1^st Corinth 16 vs 1) (Psalms 96 vs 8) (Isaiah 42 vs 8)

 

The process of giving offering:

a)    Give your offering as you proposed in your heart

b)    Give it cheerfully (with dancing and a heart)

c)     Don’t give your offering with grudges or anger

d)   Always prepare your offering.

e)    Give the best offering (genesis 4 vs 4) (2^nd Corinth 9 vs 7)

 

What can you give as an offering?

a) You can give your substance (Gen 4 vs 4)

b) You can give your money, silver or God (mark 12 vs 41)

c)  You can give material use in building God’s church as your offering.

 

Ø Prayer and fasting (luke 18 vs 1) (1^st Thes 5 vs 17) (James 5vs 16b): We all know that in Christian Life Prayer is very important. Men ought always to pray effectively and fervently in other to attract favor from God. In this aspect of prayers, it is necessary and essential for you to always make intercession for others, it is also part of giving and Christian service.

 

Ø First Fruit (Prov 3 vs 9): First Fruit is what you obtain or gain first in the land. It is advisable for you to always give your first fruit if you really want to attract favor from God.

 

The Various types of First Fruit:

a)    First Fruit of the Ground (Exodus 23 vs 16)

b)    The First Fruit of Increase (Prov 3 vs 9)

c)     The First Fruit of the Body (Exodus 34 vs 19) (Num 8 vs 16) (1^st Sam 1 vs 1 to the end)

d)   The First Fruit of sacrifice.

 

Ø Giving of Arms/Charity (Luke 8 vs 38): This is also one of the important Christian services that God expects from every Christian. The scripture reveals to us that when we give, it shall be given unto us. God blesses people, it is not for the sake of boosting that you have enough money for gold or silver. You are blessed to help others also. But in our Christian Life today many believers don’t believe in helping others, they adopt a life of greediness which is not accepted by God.
